Our Story
Juliet and her father, John, took ownership of Kensington Flowers in 2005, breathing new life into a much-loved local florist. With creative and retail direction from Juliet, artistic and steady guidance from John, and the invaluable support of Margaret—Juliet’s mother—the business was lovingly nurtured into the thriving flower shop it is today.
In March 2015, a new chapter began. The opportunity arose to move from our original home on Launceston Place to a brighter, larger premises just across the street on Victoria Grove. This move gave us the space to grow while staying firmly rooted in the heart of the community we love.
Today, Kensington Flowers remains a proudly independent, family-run business. If you visit the shop or give us a call, you’ll likely speak with Juliet, Douglas, or Nicola—each bringing their own passion for flowers and offering the warm, personal service we’re known for.
Meet Juliet
Kf director & floral designer
Home, music, antiques, interior design, the colour green, and a deep love of the English countryside—these are just a few things close to Juliet’s heart. But above all, her passion for flowers and helping people shines through in every corner of the shop.
Juliet’s journey began working alongside her father in his garden business during school holidays, where early mornings and hard work quickly became second nature. After exploring various career paths, she ultimately returned to her true passion: creating beautiful, inspired floral designs that bring joy to others.
Today, Juliet combines her lifelong love of nature and artistry to craft the unique and elegant seasonal floral arrangements that Kensington Flowers is known for.
Meet Douglas
Floral designer
Floral shirts, photography, the colour purple, and a garden in Yorkshire—these are some of the things closest to Douglas’s heart. When these passions come together with the fresh flowers and plants that Kensington Flowers sources daily from the market, you can be sure it’s going to be a good day.
After studying floristry and horticulture, Douglas honed his skills in Highgate Village before joining Kensington Flowers in 1999. Working alongside Juliet in the studio, he delights in creating with the very best seasonal—and especially British—flora.
Meet Nicola
Florist & allotment grower
Family, rural dog walks with her adorable Spaniel, baking, and allotment life are close to Nicola’s heart. Her favourite flower is a David Austin rose, cherished for its exquisite beauty, heritage and enchanting scent.
Having spent her early career in education, Nicola sought to nurture her creative side and love of nature during lockdown. This inspired her to study floristry and join the Kensington Flowers team to learn the craft.
Alongside her passion for flowers, Nicola and her husband are dedicated to maintaining their vegetable plot—and are now embracing the exciting challenge of developing a cut flower garden, where they plan to grow their own David Austin roses.
John & Margaret

John and Margaret work quietly but indispensably behind the scenes at Kensington Flowers. They are very much part of the Kf team, always available to support and share creative ideas.
John – is a natural creative—passionate about flowers, plants, and ideas—with a wealth of knowledge that enriches us all.
Margaret – is the marvel in the office: the ever-reliable tea maker, constructive critic, bringing warmth and wit to the shop every day.
Martin
Juliet’s husband
Another quiet, ‘behind the scenes’ member of the Kensington Flowers family, Martin came into the picture after Juliet was already running the business—so he had a good idea of what he was stepping into!
Luckily for Juliet (and all of us), Martin is a keen photographer and an IT wizard. His tech skills are a huge help, especially as the world becomes ever more digital. Whether it’s capturing beautiful images or solving tricky computer problems, Martin’s support is immeasurable—he’s truly an invaluable part of the Kensington Flowers family.
